I earned my Master of Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina State University (NCSU) in May 2022. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) (#A17562) in the state of North Carolina. As part of my CACREP-accredited master’s program training, I gained more than 280 hours of direct counseling experience helping adolescents and adults struggling with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, grief, relationship issues, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, etc.
I use a combination of cognitive behavioral, narrative, solution-focused, and acceptance & commitment therapies to assist individuals in their journey toward mental wellness. In drawing techniques primarily from these theories, I tailor my approach to the individual needs of clients. My focus is on empowering clients to see themselves as experts in their own lives and guiding them to their own solutions. In taking a holistic view, I help clients see how physical, emotional, social, and spiritual factors affect overall wellness toward gaining a deeper understanding of themselves. I also help clients recognize and change negative thought patterns to develop healthier ways of thinking and behaving, while incorporating mindfulness techniques that foster awareness and relaxation. My goal is to provide a safe and open environment where clients feel acknowledged, encouraged, empowered, and hopeful.
